Speech on Money – 2

"Dear Students!

Hope you are enjoying yourself thoroughly. I run the meditation centre in the city and often called in schools and colleges to deliver inspirational speeches on different topics. Today, I have chosen to speak about money which is the main centre of attraction for everyone. It is something that everyone wants to possess and most of the people who already have money want to multiply it by many times. In fact, we all work hard to earn more and more money.

Money was ideally invented by the human beings as a common denomination, which can be used for exchanging goods and services. It was also considered as the form in which people can save their earnings and money was not the only important thing during those days as it is today.

But as the time passed by, importance of money grew enormously in comparison to other things and people started looking for means to earning more and more money. Even though the truth is that we need money for purchasing the basic necessities of life such as food, clothes, shelter, etc but most of us want to earn more money for buying luxury and living life in utmost comfort. Money is also required for saving purposes in order to meet any emergency or natural calamity. We like to deposit money in the bank as savings so that we can use them in the future. Money is indeed, one of the most important elements for everyone but valuing money more than human beings is not correct.
I agree, when we have money, people in the society give us respect. Everyone should be progressive towards earning money but one should not adopt unfair or illegal means to earn more money as such money can be extremely dangerous in future and may ruin your life and rob you of your mental peace. So we must earn money through honest means and live happily.

While making money, we should also inculcate enough generosity to help the poor section of our society, especially children and women and contribute towards their growth and development. Unfortunately, our society is becoming self-centred these days and pays no heed towards people around. There is a huge population that lives in abject poverty and do not have means to earn their livelihood. So as a privileged section of our society, it becomes our duty to help uplift the weaker section and bring them to the forefront. I will appeal to all the students to study harder and try to place themselves well so that you achieve your goals in life and can give yourself and your dear ones a comfortable life.

Another important aspect that you must consider is that the value of currency is decreasing year after year and things are becoming costlier day by day; so it is important that we earn more and save more. Many people like to save money through investments in property, gold, mutual funds, investments in plots, residential houses, bank deposits, etc. This is a good decision for meeting the future calamities and adversities.

In the end I would say, money is certainly good, provided you know how much value to lay on it. In order to enjoy your money to the fullest; one must also consider to help the needy ones. In some religion; people donate a certain amount of their earnings for noble deeds and charities. It’s absolutely up to you; but you must always follow the right path to live a fulfilling life.
