Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Speech 3
"Good morning to the Principal sir, sir, madam and my dear colleagues. My name is … I study in class … As we all are together to celebrate this special event, I would like to recite a speech today on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. I am very grateful to my class teacher to offer me such a great opportunity to speech on this nice topic in front of you. My dear friends, as we all well aware of the crimes against girl child and women in the Indian society, this scheme is to support them and empower them with their birth rights to live a normal life without any gender discrimination in the society. This scheme was the important necessity to eliminate the trend of ever declining Child Sex Ratio in the country for few decades.
The number of girl child of age group 0-6 years was reduced to 945/1000 in 1991, 927/1000 in 2001 and 918/1000 in 2011. It was a high pitch alarming sign to the Indian government to tackle to it. This scheme is the result of that alarming sign regarding reduction in the number of girl child. That alarming sign was the indication of total lack of women empowerment in the country. The reduction in girl child sex ratio was because of the pre-birth discrimination, sex selection and elimination, post birth discrimination, crimes, etc. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme is launched by the Indian government on 22nd of January in 2015 to address the issue of decreasing girl child number in the country. It is a national campaign launched to focus on main target all over the country especially in 100 selected districts with low CSR. It is a joint initiative supported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Women and Child Development.
The main goal of this campaign is to save the girl child and educate the girl child all over India. Other objectives are eliminating the gender biased sex selective abortions and ensuring survival and protection of girl child. It is to make them able to get proper education and a safe life. Around 100 districts, which are low in girl child sex ratio (as per 2011 census), have been selected for better and positive effects of this campaign. There are various strategies needed to be followed for the effectiveness of this scheme. It needs social mobilization and fast communication regarding equal value of the girl child and her education. Districts with low CSR should be targeted first to better improve the condition. There is need of awareness, appreciation and support by the end of all citizens especially youth and women groups for this social change.
This nation-wide campaign is initiated to increase the awareness among people for saving and educating the girl child. It has aimed to ensure that girls are born, well nurtured and educated without being discriminated. It is to empower almost other half population of this country by giving them equal rights. This campaign requires National, State, District and community level interventions of people and different stakeholders for accelerated impact over CSR issue.
Thank You
